My mission is to pay it forward to the next generation of financial and operational leaders at venture-backed startups and to coach my own lessons learned from over 3 decades in Silicon Valley.

I'm extremely grateful to have been coached, mentored, and a teammate with so many legendary people and teams over the years. It’s time to pay it forward with 10:1 leverage by sharing back my “Best Ofs” to the next generation of leaders with a goal of publishing in 1 year what many times took me 10 years to learn.  Let’s see how far we get over the next 3+ years!. 

Inspired and personally coached by Bill Campbell, I strive to bring authenticity, wisdom, and a genuine connection to my coaching.

Several years ago, I created the Leadership Framework below to describe what CFO’s and C-Level leaders need to master. This current version (Cook’s PlayBooks) is now my “coaching starting page” for 1:1 and team based coaching over the last few years.

Cook’s PlayBooks captures my personal “Best Ofs” in the form of “themes” or quadrants required to master the alignment of strategy, structures, systems, people, and execution. This top level framework underpins most of the content I coach and am now publishing here for the first time. My focus is to deliver actionable content with stress tested framework templates and crisp step-by-step execution techniques (playbooks or plays to call within each framework).

Cook's Playbooks delivers the first “C” of my personal pillars of learning. Starting with Content and is the basis for my own Coaching practice (the 2nd “C”), with the ultimate goal of building a Community (3rd “C”) of like minded leaders with a desire to share back and coach their own teams and to learn from each other. In other words, Learning It, Doing It, and Coaching It.
